Standard Explanation
A cryptocurrency is digital money that lives on a decentralized, peer-to-peer network. Instead of a bank keeping a private ledger of balances, thousands of computers share one public ledger (a blockchain) and agree on its contents using cryptography. No single party can change the rules or freeze your funds on their own.
